Moving from the Shore

Well, things have changed dramatically over the past 6 months.

Troy took a job at PJM in January. His original plan was to stay with relatives when he was working (shiftwork) and spend weekends/time off at home in North Wildwood. In retrospect, it was a silly plan, really.

So the clan decided to move to Audubon, PA. OK, the parents decided to move. The children cried. (But they’re OK with it now…unless they are just telling us what we want to hear. We shall see.)

The NW house went up for sale in late March. After 3+ months of showings, cleaning and hoping, it looks pretty promising that we will be moving at the end of the summer.

Emmett’s Talent Show Drum Solo

Emmett performed a drum solo in the Cape May Technical High School’s “Tech’s Got Talent” show last night.

If I may interject a little fatherly pride: He was awesome.

…and I have to also point out that all of these kids were incredibly talented and showed great poise and courage. Well done, Cape May Tech!

Marion V. Bloss

Marion V. Bloss, 95, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 in Country Meadows. Born: October 11, 1912 in Coffeetown, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Simeon and Margaret Dugan Hockman. Her husband Matthew W., died in 2002. Personal: She was a 1931 graduate of Easton High School and matriarch of the Hockman Family, which recently celebrated its 31st annual reunion. She also volunteered for the 3rd Street Alliance, Meals on Wheels, March of Dimes and PTA. She taught Sunday school for 45 years, sang in the choir for 35 years and was very active on various committees and church groups. She was a past -president of the LCW. She was also a past-president of the Cosmopolitan Club. Memberships: She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Easton, where she was baptized in 1913 and confirmed in 1928. Survivors: 4 grandchildren, Crystal, Tedder, Cheryl, and Troy Cawley; five great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Taylor Ann, Emmett, Anna Rose and Katie. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Cawley Reis in 2000 and siblings, Elroy, Elvin, Edgar, Ervin, Harold, Clyde, Ken, Evelyn, Esther, and Alma. Services: 10am Wednesday in Christ Lutheran Church, 11th and Ferry Sts., Easton. Call 6-7:30pm, Tuesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton. Memorials: To the church, 1100 Ferry St., Easton, Pa 18042.

Aunt Marion, A name synonymous with love, hope, faith, and friend. You are sorely missed. What a great example you were for your very large family. You made everyone feel special and knew everyone’s names! You were a special lady and touched many lives. You lived by example and were an inspiration to all. Welcome home, you lucky little canine!
The kids have dubbed her “Wednesday”, in honor of the day she came home.
(Though Anna thinks she’s “black like goth”, so Wednesday Addams comes to mind.)
